NASA recently approved the LASIK technology and procedure used at Optical Express for use on astronauts.
The Day of Your Procedure
On the day of your procedure, allow a half day for your visit to the clinic. This ensures ample time for discussion and any final measurements to be taken. You will be unable to drive after the procedure, so be sure to make arrangements for your transportation home.
Since a local (not general) anesthetic is used, you can eat and drink normally on the day of your visit. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Do not wear any make-up, creams, mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, deodorant, or perfume on the day of treatment.
Contact lenses can change the shape of your cornea. Since laser vision correction treats your cornea, it is important to allow time for your cornea to return to its normal curvature by not wearing contact lenses prior to your consultation and procedure. You should stop wearing them for at least one week prior to treatment. If you wear rigid gas permeable lenses, you should stop wearing them one month prior to your procedure. If these guidelines are not followed, it could affect the results of your treatment.
The success of your laser treatment depends on several factors, including the expertise of the surgeon and team and the advancement of the technology used. At Optical Express, our priority is to bring you optimal clinical results while maintaining the highest level of safety.
